Save Tucker!

Note:  We continue to follow this story because Save Tucker! was told by a follower that this particular principal was specifically selected by the same individuals who were involved in the push for a Lakeside City.  Their plans would have devastated the Tucker community by splitting it up and leaving some without any commercial tax revenue in their region to help keep their own property taxes affordable.   We want others to understand that the decisions these self appointed leaders wanted to make would have been bad for everyone, regardless of where you lived.  They made decisions based on the old-school DeKalb corrupt way of doing things.  The methods that have left their own community to clean up and fix the messes like this one... bringing in a principal based on who he knows, not what he knows.  Maybe now they will stay out of the schools AND regional politics?  We can only hope.    This article below is from the AJC: After oust...

OUR COMPLAINTS TO THE SECRETARY OF STATE:   Save Tucker! spoke with investigators today regarding the Nov. 3 election that resulted in the formation of the new city of Tucker.  Our complaints about the boundary changes and resulting confusion at the voter precincts were heard, but we were told that the boundary issue is mainly a "political" process and the elections office is bound by the legal descriptions provided in HB 520 for Lavista Hills and HB 515 for Tucker .  Changes that may have been suggested after the final bills were approved were nothing more than that ... suggested changes.  They did not impact the boundaries in the legal descriptions that were approved in the legislature.  For maps that show detailed renderings of the Tucker boundaries and the local city precincts, we must now contact the county GIS department.  QUESTION:   Why is it so difficult to get an actual map or accurate description?  Does it seem f...

This pretty much explain why we have not heard a peep out of the former Tucker leaders:  Michelle Penkava, Frank Auman or Anne Lerner.  They are the official names registered as "Tucker 2015," which seems to be already dissolved, or in the process of being dissolved.  According to the notice provided on the Secretary of State's website (which anyone can run a check on any business free of charge), the group had only 60 days from May 9, 2015, by which to renew their registration as a non-profit in the state of Georgia. Written into their own registration papers is a clause that states what happens if the business is dissolved.  It says the money will be distributed to a 501 (c) 3 company that serves the same or similar purpose (like Lavista Hills Yes, for example). The news media falsely reported that a crime was committed in Tucker, simply because they were getting information from the police HQ, which is located in Tucker. This is not the first time this has happened.
