Lavista Hills Resident Admits He Was Hired to "Help" Tucker 2015

You may have heard about the security breach recently with the Secretary of State's office and your voter information file, but ... did you know there is a more direct link between the new city plans and that data breech ? It seems that Tucker 2015 , all about local control, couldn't find the right "local" person to run their political campaign, so what did they do?  Well, they hired a political consultant firm that just so happens to be located in ... Lavista Hills .  More work to be done in DeKalb by the FBI. And, it wasn't just any ol' political consultant, this particular consultant, which residents were never told that their feasibility donations might be used to fund, just so happens to be the same, small firm, Apache Political , that received one of the very confidential data disks from the state Elections Office.  It's not clear if they received it via their work as a consultant, via another affiliation with a blog site on pol...

Commissioner Jeff Raider Says DeKalb Voters Get What They Deserve

We ran across a narrative published online by Jeff Raider on the "Reporter Newspapers" website.  In it, he offered some words of advice to DeKalb voters: (this is a partial reprint of text from longer article, found here .) "The most recent election to fill the vacant District 5 Commission seat attracted less than 6 percent turnout. It can be reasonably argued that DeKalb voters are getting the representation they deserve. What does that mean? Often we are represented by figures that seem superficially attractive, but have no substance. With no track record of success in their private lives, they depend too much on their offices for income, or see their offices as private property, not a public trust. They make bad decisions, and they discourage others from service. What can be done?  First, the voters must understand and vote their interests. Educate and motivate yourself, your family and friends. There is a growing network of local news sources and blogger...

Tucker 2015's Frank Auman Exposed as a Jive Talkin' Lobbyist!

Vote No on Nov. 3 to Frank Auman, a jive talking lobbyist who doesn't even live in the current boundaries of Tucker. His front group's new map takes on expansive territory with a shaky financial plan that could put the entire region at risk of a state takeover and permanent division. With a $4 million budget for administration alone, the boutique city would add a new layer of bureaucracy that will only add to the corruption problems already impacting DeKalb County and the entire metro Atlanta region. Frank Auman was hired based on a plan that originated in the office of former County Commissioner Elaine Boyer, now in federal prison for defrauding her constituents. Don't be fooled by her plan, Tucker. Vote NO on NO-NO-NOVEMBER 3!

Elaine Boyer's Crimes Against Us Were Not Limited to Just One Scheme

Mary Kay Woodworth (at podium) addresses the Tucker community to present the plan for Lakeside City in 2013.  How did she get such a big audience for such a terrible idea to divide our community?  You can thank Elaine  Boyer when she gets out of federal prison.  Boyer hosted a meeting that had a huge turnout, bigger than any other meeting on cityhood in this area, where Tucker residents thought they were going to learn about what they could do to STOP Lakeside.  Instead, they had to practically BOO Ms. Woodworth off the stage to get her to leave the premises. This is a case of politicians, lobbyists and corporations trying to work together to pull the wool over the eyes of the average citizen while building their own little empire with OUR TAX DOLLARS!   Will the FBI investigate the other schemes Boyer was involved in during the time she was desperately seeking money, taking from taxpayers, scheming with her husband and conspiring with this "consultant...

Bad Apples Don't Fall Far From the Tree in DeKalb

You may have heard recently about the accusation that DeKalb County government is "rotten to the core." It's an interesting choice of imagery, isn't it?  Since apples are commonly thought of in the context of the school system, this particular statement is a reminder to many DeKalb residents about the close call we had with the school board that was reprimanded by SACS and then removed by the Governor. Why, though, are we not reminded about the particularly bad job our own school board member did at the time all of these SACS violations were taking place?  Perhaps because that particular board member was a very well known PRO-LAKESIDE leader who even threw his own neighborhood under the bus because of something that was going to be good for "Lakeside."  In fact, the one school that was NOT complaining about the school board members, probably because they were fairing pretty well compared to everyone else, was LAKESIDE. Our  best example of what LAKESIDE...

Republicans Now Want Cities That Won't Harm Counties

According to an article in the Brookhaven Post, Republicans who participated in the city fiasco taking place in DeKalb County have decided that their work here is done and they can now start the process of forming cities in their own, Republican-controlled counties.  And, guess what?  They are now saying the process is flawed.  And they are going to fix it... for themselves, not for us.    New cities will focus more on the benefit they can bring to the residents and, get this ... they will be formed WITHOUT property taxes at all.  Franchise fees and fines alone will be enough to provide border protection in a low profile township or "city lite" type of municipality that can ease residents into city living over time, if that's what they want.   It will protect the community from over building or the expansion of nearby areas by annexation.  If you were already upset that Lakeside City abused the process by submitting multiple bills and claiming...

They Are Dropping Like Flies in DeKalb

First, there's the story of Bob Lundsten , written about here .   A DeKalb County grand jury indicted Bob Lundsten last month on nine charges of theft and making false statements, accusing him of using his government-issued purchasing card for buying things for personal use, and then lying about it. Lundsten was arrested Thursday and is out on a $15,000 bond. (Dunwoody) Lundsten's arrest follows on the heels of  the admission of guilty by our former county commissioner, Elaine Boyer and her husband , John Boyer.   The sentencing hearing for Mr. Boyer is scheduled for May 6, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., before Judge Evans.   Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey W. Davis is prosecuting and it is being  investigated by Federal Bureau of Investigation.                        (Smoke Rise) According to DeKalb County Police Officer blog , Commissioners Sharon Barnes-Sutton , Stan Watson and others had equally-...
